Tractor Action Weekends in aid of Irish Storm and Flood victims.
Starting on the 16th and 17th of January 2016. A series of weekend and nationwide classic vehicle events to raise money for the victims of the Christmas floods in Ireland.

Stop Press!

We have received a huge amount of support over the last few days for which we are very grateful. We also appreciate that the time frame is rather too short for many clubs and groups so we would like to extend the period to cover the the whole of january rather than just the one weekend.

All proceeds from the weekend(s) will to go the Irish Red Cross to help those who have had their homes and belongings damaged by the floods following the storms that hit Ireland throughout December.

There will be another meeting on Monday 11th Jan, 7:30  at Littleton Village Hall (opposite DIY Centre on main street)  Co Tipp,

An inaugural meeting of the Tractor Action Tipperary group was held on Monday 4th January at Littleton, Co Tipperary.

The meeting was called by Michael Fahey of Thurles who has been instrumental in organising many charity events in the past and recently donated a tractor from his collection for auction in favour of the flood victims.

Following on from that success and the tremendous amount of support he received from well wishers within the classic and vintage tractor movement throughout the country it was decided to hold a series of events to raise further money for the flood victims which can be used immediately by the Red Cross at their own discretion.

The Red Cross appeal -

"Thousands of lives have been thrown into chaos by storms and floods that have swept across Ireland, some for the second time in a month. Homes and businesses have been damaged, goods destroyed and lives devastated by floods and gale-force winds. Since the first storm struck in early December, Irish Red Cross teams have been working day and night to help those worst affected."

Please note. Any money donated to this appeal must now, by law, be used for the purpose for which it was intended and not diverted to other causes or expenses. If any funds are left over at the end of the crisis they will be used to bolster the ability of the Irish Red Cross to react to future flooding and storm damage.
